Congratulations to Kirsten Mead, a setter for 16-Black, for earning her Women's AA CBVA rating by winning the CBVA Santa Cruz tournament on May 13th. The AA rating is awarded to approximately the top 300 women's beach players in California.

Payes hosted its 3rd Annual Crazy Dress-Up Day in celebration of the end of the season and the Bayview Tournament this weekend. Good luck to Payes teams competing this weekend!

Congratulations to Roxie Wiblin, a middle for 14-Black, for being selected for the USAV High Performance Select A1/A2 team, the top level of USAV's National HP pipeline. She will have the opportunity to train and compete in Des Moines, Iowa for two weeks this July.

NCVA Beach volleyball kicked off today in Santa Cruz at a tournament with around 130 juniors in attendance. It was perfect weather for a fun day at the beach! We are proud that 32 of these players (~ 25%) were from Payes. Tammy Byrne and Jacqueline DiSanto of 13-Black won 13s division, and Chanti Holroyd of 14-Black won 14s. Four Payes coaches were also in attendance supporting their girls.

Congratulations to all Paye’s Performance teams on an outstanding season!

All teams finished in Gold or Silver in the NCVA in their respective age divisions.

With no other club winning more than 1 age division, Paye’s Performance wins 3 age divisions with 17-Black, 14-Black and 13-Black. Each team outright won the NCVA Regional Championship Tournament and NCVA Power League.

Best of luck to all teams as they finish out the rest of their seasons and to our teams who qualified and earned their way to Junior Nationals in Columbus, OH--they will be playing between 6/28 – 7/7. We will be sending 6 teams to represent us this summer:

17-Black – Open
16-Black – National
15-Black – Open
14-Black – Open
14-Cardinal – National
13-Black – National

NCVA Regional Championship Highlights:

Congratulations!
Payes 17-Black - 2012 NCVA League Champions!
Payes 14-Black - 2012 NCVA League Champions!
Payes 13-Black - 2012 NCVA League Champions!

Payes 17-Black wins regionals and their second consecutive power league championship.

Payes 14-Black wins regionals in an exciting 3-set final to take the power league championship.

Payes 13-Black concluded an undefeated 13s season by winning their second-consecutive regionals and power league. Other highlights of their season included a 3-5 record against the 14-OPEN field and a 14-2 record in 3-set matches.

Congratulations to both 16-Black (National Division) and 14-Cardinal (National Division) for earning Junior National bids through the region this weekend!

Other League News:

15-Black, 15-Cardinal, and 13-Cardinal all had top finishes in Gold.
12-Black, 12-Cardinal, 14-White and 17-Cardinal finish in Silver in NCVA.
16-Cardinal finishes in Bronze.

Congratulations to Payes 15-Black for their 3rd place finish in 15-OPEN division at Far Western in Reno. Payes Black 15-Black earned its OPEN bid at Far Westerns and is heading to Junior Nationals!

Also, congrats to Payes 17-Black for their bronze medal at Far Westerns in 17-OPEN. By winning medals in each of the three qualifiers they participated in, they qualified for OPEN 3 times!

Congratulations to Payes 13-Black for winning the Far Western in exciting fashion! That is 3 consecutive National Qualifier championships for this team. They are one of three teams in the country this year to accomplish this rare feat.

Payes 12-Black also takes second place there and wins a silver medal!

Payes Digs Pink! Having sold over 200 shirts and uniforms (seen in this club photo), the club raised $1500 for the Nancy DiSanto memorial foundation. These funds benefit breast cancer research, with a focus on prevention and early diagnosis.
